Why 100% Polyester Can Still Work as an Absorbent Cleanroom Mop
A material-neutral explanation of how knit structure, mass, wetting and process design influence liquid handling.

A 100% polyester mop can handle liquid effectively when its finished textile construction, wetting behaviour, mass and process are designed for that job. Polymer identity is not the same thing as finished absorbency or route performance.

Why fibre identity is not the whole result
Knit geometry, loop or pore structure, yarn size, mass, surface finish and backing influence how a mop takes up, holds and releases solution. The same polymer can be engineered into very different constructions, so a material stereotype is not a substitute for a product-specific review.
This is also why a 100% polyester statement should not be read as proof of a particular absorbency percentage, particle result or coverage rate.

Use the same solution, surface, wetting protocol, conditioning, frame and route when comparing a polyester mop with another construction. Record pickup, retention, release, visible film and repeatability. If the intended agent is not water, test or review that agent separately.
