Cleanroom Mop Size Guide
How to match mop width, frame geometry and access constraints before a cleanroom evaluation.
By Jing Jiang · Published · Updated
Direct answer
There is no universal cleanroom-mop size. Measure the frame’s usable width, length and attachment interface first, then evaluate access, solution handling and operator control. The current evidence library confirms that all six Polyester Knit Mop SKUs are 40 cm × 12 cm, with nominal weights of 40 g, 55 g or 65 g; it does not confirm frame compatibility or surface coverage for any SKU.

What to measure before matching a mop
Technical review
Measure the frame interface before ordering
Record usable frame width and length, head thickness, attachment type, pocket or flap geometry and swivel clearance. Handle length is not enough to establish fit. A photograph of the frame underside and the current mop attachment can reduce ambiguity, but measured dimensions should remain in the evaluation record.
ISO 14644-1 classifies airborne cleanliness by particle concentration; it does not prescribe a mop dimension. IEST-RP-CC018 is the more relevant housekeeping reference for defining cleaning procedures and monitoring effectiveness. Use the standards to frame the evaluation, not to infer a product-fit result.

- Attachment method and pocket depth
- Frame thickness, swivel and clearance
- Cleaning area, corners and restricted access

Confirmed size and weight data
The current MIDPOSI evidence library confirms six Polyester Knit Mop SKUs: MID-MOP-PK-40G-N, MID-MOP-PK-40G-S, MID-MOP-PK-55G-N, MID-MOP-PK-55G-S, MID-MOP-PK-65G-N and MID-MOP-PK-65G-S. Every listed configuration is confirmed at 40 cm × 12 cm. The nominal weight options are 40 g (±10%), 55 g (±10%) and 65 g (±10%), each available in sterile and non-sterile rows. Weight is a configuration descriptor; the evidence library does not convert it into an absorption, coverage or productivity claim.

Use samples to confirm the working result
A sample evaluation should use the intended frame, solution, cleaning direction and representative surfaces. Record whether the mop remains attached, reaches the target areas, can be maneuvered without excess force and can be changed according to the site procedure. If the frame interface is not documented, keep compatibility as an open item rather than publishing a match.
Send the selected part number and frame dimensions through the sample or compatibility path. The result should remain tied to the exact SKU and frame configuration tested.
- Confirmed: 40 cm × 12 cm nominal size for the six Polyester Knit Mop SKUs
- Confirmed: 40 g, 55 g and 65 g nominal-weight options
- Needs further confirmation: attachment geometry, frame fit, coverage, absorption and operator acceptance
